Professor, Principles of Visual Communications–Spring 2010.

This was a studio/seminar course for upper level undergraduates, designed to increase visual creativeness and to develop an aesthetic, unique style. Projects included Package Design, Ad Design and Flash-based opening title sequences for movies.

 

Graduate Teachers Assistant for the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters and the Department of Communication and Multimedia Studies. August 2007- May 2010. Worked with faculty to teach undergraduate classes in graphic design and multimedia courses. Designed posters, postcards and invitations for theatre productions as well as for art and design exhibitions.

 

Darden Restaurant Group- Orlando, FL-August 2005

Created interactive banners and designed menus and other print material for this company which manages restaurants such as Red Lobster, Bahama Breeze, Smokey Bones and Olive Garden.

 

Disney's Yellow Shoes Creative Group–Celebration, FL June-August 2005

Worked as an Interactive Production Artist, designing and making alterations to user based banners, emails, and other promotional material for Disney Cruise Lines, Disneyland and so on. Uploaded and maintained banners on the Pointroll system. Became further educated on CTRs, affiliate programs, PPC and SEO online marketing methods. Worked with various servers and software. Handled backfile converted files in libraries within the company database.

 

 

 

EXHIBITS / COLLABORATIONS

 

Speaking Bodies, in collaboration with Dr. Hannah Park and the Lander Dance Company. November, 2014.

Created imagery for this performance held in Greenwood, SC. The dance explores—resonating and illuminating—the collective perceptions through bodies, visuals, and dialogue resulting in a poetic display that captures the quiet calm and serenity that one seeks both personally and in society through movement and visual collage.

Designed and submitted my own plate to this event, which is a unique and artistic local event to raise awareness and support for Greenwood’s Upper Savannah Care Service. This is a non-profit organization whose mission is to coordinate medical, support, and primary/secondary prevention services, empowering people with HIV/AIDS and their families to make informed decisions regarding care and services.

Singapore Informatics Computer Institute- Kandy, Sri Lanka- September- December 2006

 

Visiting lecturer. Instructed a Web Development course. Assigned exams in Internet theory as well as grading actual projects constructed using Dreamweaver and Flash. This institute consisted of 450 branches spread over 42 countries, and is a leader in IT training.

 

Vista Advertising and Business Consultants- Colombo, Sri Lanka- August 2006. Hired freelance to redesign company’s website, appropriating a more updated and modern image for the business.

 

Zion Garden Entertainment- Orlando, FL- May 2006

 

Designed brand identity for Orlando based entertainment company, with a mission to “Promote, Produce and Pioneer” music. Designed business cards, letterheads and other promotional material.

 

Aspire Home Loans- Sparta, NJ- March-July 2006

Was hired freelance to completely brand and design collateral material such as a logo, business cards, letterheads and so on for this New Jersey based home loan company.

 

The Haitian Museum of Art and Culture- Orlando, FL- October- December 2005. Worked on a contract basis to maintain and keep website updated. Created additional web pages and designed invitations and fliers for art exposé and gala held in December '05. Also took digital photographs of art shows and events for the website.

Worked on layout, placement and integration of type and graphics for a bi-lingual textbook company. Read proofreader's marks to make alterations and corrections to copy.

 

The Polk Museum of Art and Culture, Lakeland, FL- Spring 2005 Internship

Worked closely with directors and designers of the museum to create posters for various events, as well as being given the task to entirely design promotional material. Photographed galleries, assisted with framing and displaying of artwork for shows and conducted research for several exhibits.

 

Theatre Department, Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL

Designed promotional brochure, Summer 2004- This brochure was passed out at plays and was used in the College's admissions department, sent out to prospective students and other institutions.

 

Designed posters for several major plays, 2004-2005 These posters were designed after consulting with multiple directors, costume designers, lighting technicians and actors, thus implementing the appropriate feel and theme of the play. The posters were put up in schools and various other venues around town.

This brochure was designed to attract musicians, dramatists, artists and other varied performers. Had total responsibility within its creative aspect, and conducted the required research appropriately.

Hostess, 2002- 2005- Exposed to extensive contact with the public and local art aficionados, served as a docent for certain events and answered questions about artworks displayed.

Humane Society of Greenwood, 2012-present

Heart and Sole Dog Walk. Designed a series of posters for this local fundraising event. The posters had a patriotic voting theme as it took place at the YMCA on November 3rd, 2012.

Helped design website and deliver food, medicine and supplies during 2002-2003 for this non-profit organization.
